Mrs. Gillian McNab Early Childhood Teacher-Full Day It is a joyful feeling to see children full of enthusiasm and excitement about learning something new! This is just one of the reasons I am a teacher at Columbine Preschool. My goal is to make your child’s preschool experience a fun, exciting, and happy one! As for my background, I grew up and have spent most of my life in Nottingham, England. There, my husband and I had two daughters while I also had a career in children’s health administration. In 1997, my family made the big move to Texas, USA! In Texas, I worked as a teacher for a time, at a preschool and then for 13 years at Allen Public Library where I was a children’s library specialist. It was as a children’s specialist that my love of reading to children became a passion. Most recently, both of our daughters have graduated from college. Our eldest, Joanne, currently lives in Miami working at a children’s music school; she has played the oboe since age 12, throughout college, and in orchestras post-graduation. Our youngest daughter, Laura, played soccer from age 9 all the way through college. She most recently earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and has started her career as a Physical Therapist in Dallas. Since my husband and I are now empty nesters, we decided to move to Colorado and live a life close to nature and the adventurous outdoors! My husband and I love to hike, play tennis, kayak, and I enjoy running. When it’s too cold outside and the snow is too deep, I love to knit, sew, read, and read-- did I mention I like to read?! Here in Colorado, I earned my Early Childhood Group Leader certificate at Pikes Peak Community College. Educating young children and giving them a fun and rewarding start in school is what I truly love to do!
